Description of takoyaki cast iron pan

    • Use for making all kinds of bite-sized foods, including Poffertjes pancakes, Japanese Takoyaki, or Thai Desserts like Kanom Krok and more.

    • The cast iron Takoyaki pan is pre-seasoned. “Seasoning” is vegetable oil baked onto the iron at a high temperature: not a chemical non-stick coating. The more you cook, the better it gets.

    • So use a little extra oil, butter, or shortening the first few times when making pancakes, until you’ve built up the seasoning.

    • Cast iron is right at home on induction, ceramic, electric, and gas cooktops, in your oven, on the grill, even on the campfire.

    • Do not use the microwave oven. Hand washes. Dry immediately. Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every wash.

How do I clean a takoyaki cast iron pan?

14-hole cast iron Takoyaki pan should only be cleaned with water and not with detergent. This is to keep the oil layer that has accumulated on the surface. This is as important as oiling or seasoning the pan. For stubborn stains, scrub the pan under running water with a Japanese Tawashi (cleaner) or Sasara (bamboo brush).
